How the figures are worked out
Upfront cost is our published per-suit price times your set size, excluding VAT. TPU lifespan is your PVC figure plus 40 %, from Bubble Allstars wear testing across commercial hire fleets — the same figure given in our material guide. Cost per event is the upfront cost divided by the events the set survives. Repairs, storage and transport are deliberately left out: TPU needs fewer repairs in practice, so the comparison understates its advantage rather than overstating it.
Common questions
Is TPU always the right choice?
No. For a club or a private owner running a handful of events a year, PVC is usually the sensible buy — you never get to use the extra life in TPU. TPU earns its premium with hire operators, where the set goes out most weekends and wear is what finishes it.
Where does the 40 % figure come from?
From our own controlled wear testing across commercial hire fleets, comparing TPU and PVC suits of the same thickness. It is an average across those fleets, not a guarantee for any one suit — the life you get depends on storage, cleaning, the pitch surface and how carefully the set is handled.
