Setup

  • •Two teams of 4–6 players. Five a side is the usual format.
  • •Pitch 25–30 m long, 15–20 m wide — about half a football pitch.
  • •Two halves of 5–8 minutes, with a 2-minute half-time.
  • •Coin toss decides kick-off. Keep halves short — it is exhausting.
  • •Check every suit is properly inflated before kick-off.

Fouls

  • •Charging a stationary player from behind.
  • •Targeting the legs below the bubble.
  • •Sliding tackles — normally banned outright.
  • •Elbows, fists or head used outside the bubble shell.
  • •Removing or unstrapping the suit during play.

Safety checks

  • •Bubble must cover torso and head; arms through the side openings.
  • •Harness and shoulder straps fastened and adjusted for each player.
  • •Pitch clear of stones, glass and holes before every session.
  • •Help up any player who goes down and cannot rise unaided.
  • •Stop play at once if a bubble deflates or a seam splits.

Game formats

  • Last Man Standing — free-for-all, last player upright wins
  • Bubble Sumo — two players in a circle, push the other out
  • Bubble Relay — team race dribbling through a cone course
